The State of Texas has four levels of EMS certifications:
ECA - Emergency Care Attendant EMT - Emergency Medical Technician EMTI - Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate EMT/P - Paramedic. The City of Sherman Fire Deptartment has a total of 75 fire personnel, including administrative staff. Of the 69 firefighters, 21 are EMT and 50 are EMT/Paramedic.

The Sherman Fire Deptartment has four frontline ambulances. All of the ambulances are MICU’s (mobile intensive care units) which is the highest level of ambulance available. Non-Emergency Ambulance Service
All non-emergency ambulance service can be scheduled by calling (903) 892-7385. Non-emergency services require a Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN). Billing Questions
