  Purchasing Department
Files, Purchase Order

The primary function of the Purchasing Department is to obtain the necessary goods, services and supplies for various City departments. It is our responsibility to obtain the best possible goods and services, in the proper quantity, at the most economical price. We ensure that funds are available for purchases and that those purchases are made following the guidelines of state and local laws. We aim to promote the City's best interests through intelligent action and fair dealing, while adhering to all appropriate regulations. Purchasing's overall objective is to maximize the use of each tax dollar, and make the various operating departments more productive.

The City of Sherman is now auctioning its surplus property on-line through Rene Bates Auctioneers. For more information, please view their web site or call the City's Purchasing Agent at (903) 892-7215.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST PROCEDURES

A recent law in the State of Texas requires all vendors or potential vendors doing business with a local government to file information about potential conflicts of interest. The law applies to a person, or the agent of a person, who contracts or seeks to contract for the sale or purchase of property, goods, or services with the City of Sherman.
